January 30, 2024

In a dynamic start to the new year, Taejae University students embraced the opportunity to explore the visionary realms of the Taejae Future Consensus Institute.

This non-profit private think tank, established with the mission to formulate policies for global public welfare and sustainable development while nurturing leaders to spearhead worldwide transformations, welcomed the Taejae delegation on its maiden visit in 2024.

President Jaeho Yeom, accompanied by faculty, staff, and enthusiastic students, gathered at the Taejae Future Consensus Institute to engage in an enlightening tour and gain insights from the distinguished President of the institute, Sung-hwan Kim, the 36th Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Taejae Future Consensus Institute stands committed to transcending local issues and leading long-term, future-oriented research that addresses global environmental changes. Through collaboration with reputable domestic and international research institutions and expert groups, the institute strives to prepare for the digital societal revolution and undertake research that integrates the values of the East and West.

Despite the winter break, a notable turnout marked the event, with students from the School of Innovation Foundations actively participating. President Jaeho Yeom, addressing the students at the Daehwadang in the Taejae Future Consensus Institute, shared the university's ongoing efforts to enhance students' competencies through diverse avenues. He revealed plans for upcoming programs in the new semester that aim to boost individual student activities.

Dawit Chun, a recipient of the President's Award in December 2023, expressed his satisfaction after completing his first semester, stating, "I had a fun and interesting time overall."

Meanwhile, President Sung-hwan Kim extended a warm welcome to the students and emphasized the institute's role in contemplating and researching global governance for a better future society. Stressing the need for collaboration between the East and West to create new values, he outlined the institute's primary focus for the year—to establish a global platform for discussions on four critical research topics.

Additionally, President Kim highlighted the internship program at the Taejae Future Consensus Institute, encouraging interested Taejae University students to actively participate in the institute's research areas, including Earth overcoming unsustainability, the transition from conflict to cooperation, social change driven by digital transformation, and the era of convergence between East and West. As the institute takes strides in basic research to shape new values, Taejae students are welcomed to contribute and be a part of this transformative journey.
