In Brief

The precedents set by Yale-NUS and NYU Abu Dhabi carry significant ramifications for the evolutionary trajectory of Taejae University as it navigates its identity and strategic course.

1. Branding and image building: It is very important to build a strong brand as a prestigious university. Especially in the early years of a university's existence, this can set the tone for its long-term direction. Clear and professional public relations is necessary to overcome negative stereotypes about being legally classified as a cyber university and having a foreign name.

2. Emphasize partnerships and independence: Partnerships with other universities can be beneficial, but developing independently can be a strength. It is important to emphasize the independence of the school by not relying on partnerships with U.S. universities and operating independently with only the necessary models as reference.

3. Talent attraction and scholarship support: It is necessary to provide support such as full scholarships to attract talented students. Especially in the early years, full financial support is needed to attract talent, even if it means losing money.

4. Internationalization and recruitment of foreign students: Recruitment of foreign students requires promotion through visits to international schools and online information sessions. It is important to provide support and community for international students.

5. English proficiency and internationalization: Students' English proficiency should be verified and internationalization policies should be actively promoted. Internationalization can be enhanced by conducting classes in English and communicating with students in English.

6. Establish a mentoring program: It is important to establish a mentoring program to facilitate exchanges between students. It should be artificially created so that students from different backgrounds can interact together.

The author anticipates that these strategies will facilitate Taejae University's progression towards a sustainable trajectory in the future.
