Taejae University Expands Worldwide with USF Partnership
Memorandum of Understanding signed with University of San Francisco for Global Rotation Program
[Release Date: September 20, 2024] Taejae University has taken a major step forward in its mission of global experiential learning and innovative higher education by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of San Francisco (USF). This agreement lays the groundwork for cooperation initiatives between the two institutions, furthering their common goals of pioneering more innovative and future-oriented higher education practices.
The MOU was signed by Taejae University President Jaeho Yeom and USF President Father Paul J. Fitzgerald, S.J. at USF's Main Campus. This collaboration formalizes the agreement that USF will serve as the partner institution for the western United States segment of Taejae University's Global Rotation system, providing a customized educational program for Taejae University students. For one semester, Taejae students will reside at USF with access to student life and campus facilities while taking courses developed jointly by USF and Taejae. These courses will align with Taejae's unique educational values and academic structure, including an innovation-centric immersion program in the Silicon Valley region. Furthermore, this arrangement provides the opportunity for Taejae and USF students to broaden their global horizons through cultural exchanges and learn more about the world through one another's experiences and communities.
President Yeom said, "This agreement marks the beginning of a key chapter in our university's history and a turning point towards fulfilling our worldwide educational mission. We are excited to embark on this partnership with USF and work towards our shared commitment to offering academic excellence, promoting values of inclusivity and sustainability, and innovating in higher education.”
The University of San Francisco is a private university located in the heart of the Bay Area's vibrant, historic metropolis. Offering more than 230 undergraduate, graduate, professional, and certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines, USF has earned recognition for its academic excellence and commitment to diversity. USF was recently named one of eight "standout schools" in the new Princeton Review college survey, recognized for having the most diverse student body among American universities and ranked as a "Best in the West" college for its "academically outstanding curriculum."
“We are very pleased to partner with Taejae on this innovative program,” said Eileen Chia-Ching Fung, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. We look forward to the ways that the talents and global perspectives of Taejae students will enrich our classrooms, our campus, and our diverse community.”
The partnership between Taejae University and the University of San Francisco represents a significant step for both institutions in creating more globally integrated and innovative higher education opportunities. As the two universities work together to implement this novel program, they are poised to break new ground in international education and prepare their students for success in an increasingly interconnected world.
